Located just off the Vendée coast of western France, the Île d'Yeu is a beautifully unspoilt haven conducive to daydreaming.
Its varied terrain, which can be explored via bike rides throughout the year, is exquisite.
Close to the harbour settlement of Port-Joinville on the island’s north coast, La Mission can be found in the village of Saint-Sauveur. All paths lead to this village, making it the crossroads of this picturesque island.
How reach the island
To reach the Île d'Yeu, you have two alternatives.
You can make a sea crossing (with or without a vehicle) or opt for the air service via helicopter.
Air service
Air connection provided by the company Oya Vendée Hélicoptères.
The helicopter flight takes you from La-Barre-de-Monts to the Ile d'Yeu in less than 10 minutes.
Maritime services
Throughout the year
from Fromentine to Port-Joinville.
From April to September,
an additional service reaches the island from Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie.
